Geen Rapalje Zomerfolk Festival zonder Rapalje! Rapalje is een bekroonde band uit de Schotse en Ierse folkmuziekscene. Na ruim 3 decennia gaan ze nog altijd lachend door het leven en hebben ze hun publiek betoverd met gepassioneerde en levendige optredens op honderden podia over de hele wereld. De groep combineert traditionele instrumenten zoals de doedelzak, viool, fluiten en bodhráns met zang uit het hart en een flinke dosis humor, waardoor ze geliefd zijn, waar ze ook spelen. Rapalje, wat “schavuit” of “vlegel” betekent, heeft talloze concerten gegeven en meer dan 10 albums uitgebracht. De band heeft verschillende prijzen en onderscheidingen gewonnen, waaronder de Best Live Act Award bij de fantasy awards in 2015 and 2018. Over the years, Rapalje has gained a reputation as one of the most entertaining and dynamic folk bands around. Their trademark chaos and the way they always make time for their huge fan following is what makes the musicians so popular.
