Bonsart Bokel is the creator of the Youtube channel Radio Retrofuture and the documentary series The Steampunk Beginners Guide. On his podcast, he has interviewed over a hundred members of the Steampunk community, including writers and comic book illustrators. After talking about Steampunk for ten years, he thought it was time to write stories. This became a short story series called The Association of Ishtar - a multiverse of Steampunk adventure and horror. The ambition is to create a crowdsourced universe where the readers take the place of the researchers who explore new worlds and discover the secrets of the Association of Ishtar.
Greetings, the name is A. J. Hodes, and I am a comic book writer from the Netherlands with the blood of two continents running through his veins. Plus, I have a passion for history, reading, video games, music, and the visual medium of comics. My roots lie in the Franco European comics I grew up with and seinen mangas like Golden Kamuy, Hadashi No Gen and Vinland Saga. I would like to thank everyone on my team who contributed to Jaguar Warrior Issue 1. A special thanks goes to my artist, editor and all-around good chap NEF for providing me with the artwork to bring the story of Jaguar Warrior to life, Amalia Art for providing me with the amazing title logo, my followers on social media, my family and friends who supported me in this endeavor, Mike Jimmy (Life on Cora) for helping me making the files print ready and for letting me attend this writer's market at Rapalje Zomerfolk 2023. Finally, I hope you folks enjoy this story as much as me and NEF loved creating it.
Kimberly & Geoffrey Legito-Geelen are a couple who go by conventions as Kimmicomics and Geoscrolls. They collaborate on Comics, Mangas and D&D adventures, using folklore, cryptid and Lovecraftian influences. Kim is known for her work in Oyasumi, Ripple and as part of the so-called “New Guard”. Geo is mainly known as her regular writer but is making a name for herself as a real Dice-Deity and Tabletop writer. They currently have a Kickstarter running with a story in which cats fight against outside monsters to protect their owners through an ancient covenant. So if you like cats, D&D, dice, Fantasy and/or Horror, be sure to visit their stand. And don't hesitate to ask Kim for a commission if you have something unique in mind.
Mike Jimmy Brown is a publisher, animator and cartoonist with a love for nature, weird little animals, and strange worlds. These parts can all be found in the comic series 'Life on Cora', which he publishes under his own label Faeries and Ents. He also realizes a lot of drawing work on request for both line and letter work for comics, as well as company logos and tattoos. Should his style appeal to you? Then talk to him on Rapalje, or contact him via the socials below. The publishing house Faeries and Ents has been active since 2018 with a love for science fiction and fantasy books and comics. With six published series, they have something to offer for all age groups. This year they will be performing at Rapalje Zomerfolk with the debut of their latest book, Het Leven Op Cora – Fru en de Bouw Bloesem! Hopefully we'll see you there!
