The Shannons

A folk band with a unique sound. Do you love country, folk, Americana and Irish sing-alongs? Then visit a show by The Shannons and you will definitely get your money's worth. With music by Dolly Parton, The Pogues, Dropkick Murphy's, Johnny Cash, Mumford & Sons, The Dubliners and many others. The Shannons also play their own work, which falls exactly within this genre. Noel and Lynn Shannon have performed together for many years as musicians on the Irish music circuit throughout Germany, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Coincidentally, they have both been country music lovers since childhood. It has been a great desire for a long time to form a band around country music and their other musical favorite, Irish folk.
In addition to the many well-known Irish music, they love to take a trip to a well-known song such as Jambalaya or Hello Mary Lou.

Since 2022, Paddy Ryan has occasionally joined the band (ex-“Seven Drunken Nights”). The 3 had a good musical click and the banjo virtuoso is now a permanent fixture in the band.

Noel Shannon (IRL); Vocals, guitar, mandolin, harmonies
Born and raised in Cork, Ireland and grew up with Irish music. Noel emigrated to the Netherlands in 1993 and has always been active as a musician in the Netherlands.

Lynn Shannon (NL); Vocals, guitar, mandolin, harmonies
Lynn comes from the Hanseatic city of Deventer. At 14e she started making music and hasn't stopped since. Her voice is reminiscent of the voices of Janis Joplin and Alanis Morissette. And in addition, her voice has a very suitable sound for… country music!

Paddy Ryan (IRL); Banjo, electric guitar, bass, harmonies
Paddy Ryan, like Noel, comes from Ireland, has years of experience in the music world and is an important member of The Shannons. For many years he was part of the theater performance 'Seven Drunken Nights' a tribute to the Dubliners as a banjo player and toured Europe with it.

The Shannons invite you to sing and dance along and are happy to provide an unforgettable experience. Sitting still is not an option!
